Iraqi Refugee Mental Health

Due to high prevalence of mental health disorders among Iraqi immigrants and refugees and Arabs who fled war-zone countries. Our health board considers mental health a core priority in our mission. We are privileged to have qualified mental health experts within our organization who provide culturally and linguistically mental health services for Arabic-speaking immigrants and refugees. We focus on equipping our community members with self-evaluation tools like health education to identify some of the most common mental health issues within this community like PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and substance misuse.

Below is a lecture prepared by Dr. Zainab Al-Tameemi to address Iraqi refugees mental wellbeing in our community and how to better understand it.
