Our Story
Due to the urgent need for culturally sensitive public health services for Arabic speaking communities in Washington, the Iraqi/Arab Health Board (IAHB) was founded in 2017 by a group of Iraqi physicians, volunteers, and health professionals who work with refugees and immigrants within multiple organizations in Washington. We are a public, non-profit grassroots organization.
Our Mission:
To eliminate system barriers that affect the access of Iraqi and Arab immigrants and refugees and other underserved communities to health services in Washington.
Our Vision:
Equitable opportunities to access the health system by immigrants and refugees to reach to a healthy community in Washington.
Our goal:
To reach all Arabic speaking refugees and get them access to health care by 2030.
